Study Permit Extensions
If an international student is planning to continue studies after the expiration of the Study Permit, they must apply for the extension of the same before the expiration of their valid Study Permit.
This extension can only be done while the student is in Canada. Should the student decide to return to his home country, the possibility of getting the extension done from outside Canada stands nullified.
If the student is able to send the application to the IRCC, and the same is received by the IRCC, before the expiration of the Study Permit, the student can legally stay in Canada under ‘implied status’, till he/she receives the final decision.
If the student fails to send the application for an extension before the expiration of the Study Permit, the student will be ‘Out of Status’.
Here at Dreamline Immigration Services, we can help our clients extend their Study Permit and help them remain in Canada on a valid status.
