Visitor Visa

Visitor Visa

If you are planning to visit Canada, you must apply for a Canadian visitor visa, which is also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). This visa allows foreign nationals to travel to Canada, regardless of their reason for visiting, whether it is to study, work temporarily or just to visit. However, if you are from a visa-exempt country, you do not need a TRV.

There are two types of Visitor Visas:

Single Entry Visa

This visa allows a foreign national to travel to Canada for only one time and is only issued under certain specific circumstances.

Multiple Entry Visa

This visa allows an applicant to enter and leave Canada frequently as they wish, if the issued visa is valid. It is usually issued automatically, and the applicant does not get to choose between a multiple or a single-entry visa. The holder can travel to Canada for 6 months at a time as many times as they want until their visa is valid, which could be up to 10 years, depending on the visa officer's decision.
